Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on June 30th that his government is committed to realizing the dream of Kannada matinee idol Dr. Rajkumar by building a film city in Mysuru. He criticized the previous BJP government for not advancing this project.
“Our government has allocated 100 acres of land in Mysuru for the film city. We will develop it through a public-private partnership,” the Chief Minister stated during the inauguration of the new building of the Kannada Film Producers Association.
In addition, Siddaramaiah assured film producers that his administration would take steps to establish a Kannada OTT platform. “Our government will review and take appropriate action regarding the OTT platform for the Kannada film industry,” he said.
